Last night was our 2nd annual soup competition — this year with even more entries than last (12!) — all of which were incredibly delicious. It was a ton of fun and a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came out, and either made or ate soup, and enjoyed warm fires and yummy food and mulled wine with us.
And congrats to Leana, who has now won twice in a row and has quite a title to defend. She won with an amazing tomato bisque called “Risky Bisqueness”. Ha!
Some photos below. More can be seen at our flickr (including pictures from last year). .
Here at Recspec HQ, we couldn’t be more happy and excited about the new year, and all the prospects + projects + plans buried deep within it. We hope that your 2011 is wonderful and bright, and that you send 2010 off with a BANG (in a safe, and controlled way, of course).
We have so many things to show you next year. We can’t wait. .
Our 4th Annual Christmas Sweater Champagne Jam was a complete hit, and we’re so grateful to everyone that came out and partied with us. Thank you! Magnifico was incredible, as always, and the photos by Devaki Knowles are now up and perfectly Christmas-y and awkward, just like we requested. We were really blown away by how many people brought their own super ugly and amazing sweaters. Thanks again to everyone that came out! .
We had the pleasure of being asked to do a photobooth at Tech_Sys this past weekend, which was also our friends Butcher Bear and Charlie‘s EP release party, thus the red bear vs. robot motif. Here are a handful of pictures from the night, click through to go to the set on flickr. It was nice meeting everyone, and thanks for having us, Massive Beacon!
Here’s a handful of great photos from our latest party: GET LOST – The photobooth was made by us, and all photos taken by the ever-talented Alison Narro. Thanks again to everyone who came out! The full set of photos can be seen on our Flickr account over here.
Just like our party last year, Fire Walk With Me, we want to make sure you’re not at a loss for a costume for our Lost Boys party: Get Lost coming up on Friday, October 29th. So we’re here with a little guide to getting the look of your favorite Lost Boys characters. Its in no way required to dress up, but its Halloween, right? What better excuse do you need?
First, for those of you that might not have the time to put together a costume, we’ve got you covered. The first 100 people through the door get a pair of vampire teeth and these rockin’ 80′s style Recspec + Represent Austin sunglasses. Because really, that’s all you’d need to get a proper Santa Carla vampire look:
This month for our regular DJ night, Kon Karne’s Butcher Shop with The Bear, we decided to have some fun and carve some pumpkins, since we decided to give the night a very silly name: Sex Harvest. Evidence below:
Our Valentine’s Day party for our most recent mix, The Mouth is For to Fuck, was met with wind and freezing temperatures, but we still managed to warm hearts with our eclectic array of love songs and lots of hugs. Here are some pictures from the night — thanks to all who came out, and especially to Amelia, whose tidy cloths and dirty Valentine booth were a huge hit.
The pictures from our yearly bad sweater party are now online! Thanks a lot to Alison Narro for taking photos, as always. Here’s some of our favorites, and the rest can be seen here or by clicking on any of the pictures below.
