Our friend Prince Klassen recently transfered his self to NYC from Austin, and we feel that his move is reflected in this lovely fall mix. Seems like the perfect thing to bundle up and walk the cold concrete of a big city to. It’ll definitely keep you warm.

Our 4th Annual Christmas Sweater Champagne Jam was a complete hit, and we’re so grateful to everyone that came out and partied with us. Thank you! Magnifico was incredible, as always, and the photos by Devaki Knowles are now up and perfectly Christmas-y and awkward, just like we requested. We were really blown away by how many people brought their own super ugly and amazing sweaters. Thanks again to everyone that came out!

Its that time again for us all to don our ridiculous apparel for our yearly Christmas Sweater Champagne Jam at Beauty Bar. This year, we’re especially lucky to be featuring Austin’s most magnificent Queen cover band (perhaps the best Queen cover band in the world?) MAGNIFICO! Party people in holiday attire get a drink on Santa’s bar tab and Devaki Knowles will be taking amazing photos and polaroids at our very awkward photobooth. And as always, DJ Kon Karne and Lee Roi will be rocking the smooth Christmas-tastic jams all night.

While I have never designed wedding invitations before and was somewhat intimidated by the prospect — insomuch that it is something so special and significant towards what can be the biggest day of someone’s life — I was incredibly flattered to help Tamera with the invitations for her wedding this past October.

Once hearing her concept for them, with individual gifts for the guests and a story woven throughout, I got even more excited, and the final results with everything put together are so beautiful that I just feel lucky to have been a part of the process. Finding a balance between having the design be interesting while also easy to read and classic was a nice challenge, and I believe we were both quite pleased with the results.

The invitations were gocco’d onto old book leaves with shimmery gold ink, and the RSVP cards are printed onto vintage postcards from Vermont, where the wedding was held.

The world lost a great light and hugely influential musician with the passing of Peter Christopherson last month, and with myself (Lau) being a huge fan of all of his projects, I decided I would post my little mix dedicated to him here. If you are also a fan, please take a moment to go to the Threshold House website and make a donation in his memory to help children affected by AIDs in Thailand.
